“My mother has been called the painter of Carpi.
And quite appropriately so. Her tireless pen unravels every corner of the town: incessantly changing perspectives, playing with time, taking flight and then dwelling on the littlest details. The lines get closer as the shadows thicken, and thin out where the light falls.
A Carpi that’s been analyzed almost obsessively. Just as my mother was almost obsessively attached to her hometown.
